Mia is a strategist, storyteller, and organizer-turned-funder-turned-funder-organizer working to realize new futures of joy, belonging, and liberation for all.

TKTK

She landed in philanthropy because she kept watching funding decisions made behind closed doors determine what movements could accomplish — and wanted to help change that.

She is the Deputy Director at Tara Health Foundation, a spend out foundation redistributing power and resources to gender, economic, and racial justice movements, and consults with the MacArthur Foundation on how they engage and learn alongside grantees. Mia serves as a Praxis facilitator with Resource Generation, is a Harmony Fellow with Justice Funders, and a member of the Emergent Learning Community Project. She is an MBA Candidate at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Her work to reshape how money moves has taken the form of thought pieces, video series, and in-person experiences, and is shaped by her dancing, dinner parties, and time spent in nature’s expanse.

Potential text or call to action here, a poem? A piece of writing? A quote from someone that is in relationship with Mia?

Other things she’s up to…

THE LAND

Mia recently bought a plot of land a mile from the house she grew up in and is nurturing it from a dump site into something verdant and wild.

THE RELATIONSHIPS

Something about Mia’s deep intuition around relationship, people, and trust.

THE TRANSFORMATION

She's also pursuing an MBA at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business because sometimes the master's tools are useful in dismantling the house (especially when you have an undergraduate degree in gender studies).

THE WIND

She’s really into her growing archive of things in conversation with the wind.
